At Sandia Crest near Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rosy Finches come to feeders near the
snack bar and gift shop. With the temperature at 21°F and a brisk wind, I waited
with the camera focused on a small tree near a feeder. After an hour, I decided that
if the birds didn't show by 9:25 a.m, I'd give up and get some coffee. Promptly at
9:24, the flock swirled out of the sky and landed long enough for this one photo.
They ate quickly, then every bird took wing as one. You never know. |
