A Northern Cardinal in an evergreen tree - it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  But the truth is, the photo was taken in February, and I deliberately transplanted this juniper tree near my backyard feeder.   Then I told the cardinals and chickadees they'd get no more bird seed until someone posed for a nice photo.
   As this backstory proves, you cannot assume that we bird photographers get our photos by chance and luck alone.
