The seed feeders at our mountain cabin in New Mexico attract three species of nuthatches: White-breasted, Red-breasted, and the one shown here, Pygmy Nuthatch. Like its southeastern counterpart, the Brown-headed Nuthatch, the Pygmy is a denizen of pine forests.
