Nothing brightens a dreary winter day like the appearance of a Northern Cardinal, a.k.a. Big Red, at our backyard feeder. In Oklahoma, Cardinals begin to sing in mid-January.  Winter may stay for another two months, but Big Red assures us that there will be a spring.
